The IEEE Communications Society held their annual Communications Quality and Reliability (CQR) Workshop and Emerging Technology Reliability Roundtable (ETR-RT); bringing together industry leaders from around the globe.
Experts in areas such as Cybersecurity, Cloud Computing, Communications, Internet of Things (IoT), Network Functions Virtualization (NFV), Software Defined Networking (SDN), and Wireless/Mobility were in attendance to present their advancements in growing technologies. InfoBeyond Technology LLC CEO, Dr. Bin Xie, delivered his keynote speech on his research in network security innovation. He highlighted various topics including his work in access control with his security policy modeling, testing, and verification solution – Security Policy Tool. In addition to a keynote speaker, Dr. Xie was also a panelist in the open Security discussion.
Dr. Xie's keynote presentation illustrated the latest access control standards specified by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) as well as analysis of how recent developments can be applied across various industries. In recognizing the many challenges associated with designing and implementing secure access policies, Security Policy Tool has been developed. Now enterprises who leverage Security Policy Tool can systematically model, test, and verify their policies to ensure their policies are free of errors or logic flaws. In doing so, they enhance their access control security while also saving time and cost in the process.
Dr. Xie was invited as a speaker in the ETR-RT alongside other experts from enterprises such as AT&T, General Motors, Huawei Technologies, National Instruments, and Verizon to discuss Reliability, Availability, and Serviceability (RAS) challenges in emerging areas of the IT industry. After three exciting days packed with presentations and discussion on gripping IT topics, the IEEE Communications Society CQR Workshop came to an end. Dr. Xie is honored to have received an award for his Significant Contributions in Advancing Quality, Reliability, and Security.
